 Have you ever wondered why many of the couples around you are not happy? Think about some of the ideal couples you know. Friends? Relatives? Your parents?

There is nothing wrong in giving importance to physical appearance, after all, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. But common interests and compatibility are important too. Physical appearance and wealth should not be deal-breakers. When you realize you have nothing in common with someone, you should be willing to walk away even though they score high on non-deal-breakers like physical appearance and wealth. When you have to compromise, compromise on the non-deal-breakers.

In this age of online dating and matrimonial sites, we mostly search for our partners online. The one thing all these sites have in common is that they emphasize on the non-deal-breakers. When you search you have to choose a person from their photos and other useless details shown in the search results. One can't blame these sites, because that's what most people want.

So from the search results you choose one profile and read what they have written about them. Most of the time it will be either

    "I am a cool guy, looking for a homely girl."

(or)

    "Looking for a tall, well-settled groom. I would like to visit Switzerland."

Or worse, it will be a one page monlogue where they say nothing about themselvels but list out all the qualities they expect in their partner. (By the way, some people actually list the places they want to visit after marriage.)

No wonder most marriages are not working.

I have noticed there is a very strong correlation between the world views of many of the extremely rich and the extremely poor, which is in direct juxtaposition to that of the productive middle class. This does not apply to all, but it does apply to many and it is the reason they are as they are.

Both the rich and poor believe they are entitled to wealth simply because of who they are, without working to earn it, and that this right to wealth without work is to be passed on to their children.

Both have no concern about fairness, or rather redefine the term to their own liking,

and both rationalize away all ethical and moral barriers that would in any way restrict their ability to grab anything they want.

The only real difference seems to be that the extremely rich have somehow managed to get money in the first place and of course also their physical representation.
